Duelling Championships: 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 & 2009 | 2010 | 2011
This article describes events that are still happening.
Calls by players for the 2008 champs began in June[1] and when the then administrator Mazda failed to materialise(his computer died), a coup was proposed and settled by Ron's appointment of ccmaster as temp new Dueling Club admin and moderator.[2] ccmaster then organised the champs and play finally began in September. Because of the late start, the 2008 champs were also notable for other reasons:
- During the initial call, some players wanted to allow the entry of non-ranked players.
- After (1) several new (to dueling) players were very quickly played and defeated by ccmaster using the monster HE that he almost won the 2005 champs with and -f HE were banned from the champs.
- Players were seeded by timezone rather than formula to facilitate faster play.
- Play continued throughout 2009
