The privateer (PVT) makes a very useful freighter in the early stages of the game, for two reasons:-
- It can take 3 fuel-pods, giving it extended range.
- It requires very little germanium, meaning there is more available to build factories.
It does, however, require a lot of ironium.
Many players also use the PVT hull as a coloniser, with to fuel pods and one colony module.
