Mini-Colony Ship

Toned down version of the colony ship, exclusive to the Heavy Expension PRT.

The mini-colony is the HE cheap alternative to normal colony ships. It is also the only ship in the game able to use the settler's delight engine, a very cheap scoop engine able to go as high as warp 6 without using fuel, bringing the fuel mizer to shame.

It is commonplace for an HE player to take advantage of the mini-colony hull and settler's delight combo by switching the colonization module for a cargo pod, turning the resulting ship into an early fast and fuel efficient small freighter. Some HE players have even be known to use this freighter design all game long by keeping it in service rather than scrapping it, saving on design slot and production time of new freighters.

It is very important to note that a recently found bug allow one to copy a ship design, remove the colonization module and still retain colonization ability. Even though this bug can be abused on any hull, removing the module from a mini-colony hull from the start of the game and onward is a huge saving in long term resources and minerals without the sacrifice of a more "useful" ship in return. The use of this bug on a mini-colony hull is known to get other players somewhat suspicious on sight and can lead to immediate game ban if found guilty. You have been warned.
