I have not come across a formula for ram scoop fuel generation that is accurate in all circumstances.  The values in the following table were taken from a testbed.

No, it's not a typo.  The Galaxy scoop generates no fuel at its free speed of warp 9. Go figure!

When engines move at low speeds, they produce fuel instead of consuming it. All engines produce fuel at Warp 1, but only ramscoop engines produce fuel at higher warp speeds.

The amount of fuel F an engine generates when travelling a distance D is calculated thusly:

F = 0 if the engine is running above the highest warp at which it travels for free (i.e. it is using fuel) F = D if the engine is running at the highest warp at which it travels for free F = 3D if the engine is running 1 warp factor below the highest warp at which it travels for free F = 6D if the engine is running 2 warp factors below the highest warp at which it travels for free F = 10D if the engine is running 3 or more warp factors below the highest warp at which it travels for free

Note that the fuel generated is per engine, not per ship; i.e.; a ship with 2, 3, or 4 engines produces (or uses) 2, 3, or 4 times as much fuel as a single engine ship.

The values presented assume that the ship travels the full distance possible at the given speed. If it travels less than this distance, the fuel generated is proportionally reduced (approximately).

For different engines at different speeds, thus, we have the following amounts of fuel generated (in mg):

                           Warp Speed
Engine 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Settler's Delight - - - 36 75 96 90 40 10
Quick Jump 5 - - - - - - - - 1
Fuel Mizer - - - - - 16 27 24 10
